The postseason for area teams continues in a number of sports, with sectional finals in lacrosse, baseball and softball this week. 

The number of events this week can vary depending on what happens earlier in the week. 

Here’s a day-by-day look at what’s on tap, including how many events currently are on the schedule each day.

MONDAY
Happy Memorial Day. 

TUESDAY (5)
* The Notre Dame boys’ golf team competes at the IAC Championships.
* Horseheads baseball takes on Vestal and Elmira hosts Corning in game ones of their best of three sectional finals.
* Edison softball hosts SVEC in a sectional quarterfinal. 
* Elmira boys’ lacrosse is at Ithaca in a sectional boys’ lacrosse semifinal. 

WEDNESDAY (2)
* Elmira, Corning and Horseheads track and field are at class sectionals in Ithaca. 
* Notre Dame/Watkins Glen boys’ lacrosse is at Whitney Point in the sectional semifinals. 

THURSDAY (4)
* Elmira, Corning, Horseheads and Notre Dame girls’ golfers are at sectionals. 
* Horsreheads is at Vestal and Corning hosts Elmira in game two of their best of three championship series. 
* Notre Dame and Edison track and field are at class sectionals. 

FRIDAY (2-4)
* Corning girls’ lacrosse takes on Ithaca in a sectional final. Horseheads girls’ lacrosse takes on Vestal in a sectional final. 
* Horseheads baseball hosts Vestal and Elmira hosts Corning in game threes of their sectional final series if necessary. 

SATURDAY (4)
* The Horseheads softball team takes on Vestal in a sectional final and Corning meets Elmira. 
* Corning boys’ lacrosse takes on Ithaca or Elmira in a sectional final, while Horseheads meets Binghamton.
