STAC GIRLS' TENNIS: CORNING PICKS UP WIN OVER HORSEHEADS (24 PHOTOS) (September 28, 2026)

CORNING — The Corning Hawks girls’ tennis team beat Horseheads 6-1 on Monday night. 

The Hawks won all four singles matches.

Kassidy McNeill won 6-2, 6-3 over Laura Cummings at first singles and Sophia Rim won 6-3, 6-0 over Lydia Mackey at second singles.

In third singles Ella Alberg won 6-1, 7-6 (6-4) over Kaitlyn Soper, while at fourth singles Rebecca Spike won 6-2, 6-4 over Niya Sharma.

In first doubles Corning’s Jaedyn Vernacotola and Kate Scanlon dropped the first set 6-0, then won 6-4, 6-2 over Hannah Mattoon and Peyton Peterson.

In second doubles Corning’s Natalie Ginalski and Taylor Kaelin won 6-3, 7-5 over Ellie Pagano and Ella Scibek.

Horseheads got a win at third doubles as Addie Pronti and Aditi Kamaraju won 7-5, 6-2 over Corning’s Bethany Morey and Ira Mamidwar.
