ELMIRA — The Elmira boys’ soccer team was edged by Vestal 3-2 on Friday night.

Chase Smith had a goal for Elmira and Dom Capilli had an assist. 

Jacob Nelson, Elian Toric and Leo Stockwin had the Vestal goals.

“It was a great back and forth match between two quality programs,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “Elmira took the lead at 1-0 and 2-1, but Vestal scored twice in the final 10 minutes to pull out the victory.

“Giving up three PKs is hard to overcome. We need to do a better job of staying disciplined in the right moments.”
