SECTION 4 VOLLEYBALL: ELMIRA RALLIES FOR WIN OVER EDISON (24 PHOTOS) (September 23, 2026)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Elmira volleyball team rallied for a five-set victory over Edison on Wednesday night.

Edison won the first set 26-24, before Elmira came back with a 26-24 win of their own. Elmira then won 25-17, before Edison won 25-22 and Elmira closed things out with a 15-7 win. 

Anna Osborne had three digs and a kill with three aces and Ava Cornacchio had two aces and 12 digs. 

Ava Preston had two kills, an assist and a dig and Morgan Perry had a dig.

Mareena Osborne had four kills and an assist and Lia Kozdemba had three kills, five digs and two aces.

Alivia Kerr had four digs, three kills, a block and an assist and Khloe Wright had an ace and a dig.

Hunter Watson had two kills and a block and Aleah Leonberger had seven digs, 13 assists and was 19-for-21 serving with an ace. 

Payton Grant had 17 kills and five blocks, with a dig and Kylie Leonberger had 14 assists and four digs, with two aces. Cate Lambert had five digs and a kill. 

Isabelle Guarnieri had four kills, two aces and 12 digs for Edison and Aveyah Nelson had six assists.

Melanie Cheplick had 11 digs, 14 kills and an ace and Kayla Rossi had a kill and 11 digs.

Claire Elston had seven kills and four digs and Hailey Clark finished with 10 kills, six digs and three assists.

Rosie Wheeler had two aces, a kill and three digs and Lyla Cowulich had 20 assists, 11 digs and a kill, while Eden Bethel had a dig and Emma Nisbet had six kills and a dig. 

Elmira won the JV match 25-16, 25-11, 25-7.
