GROTON — The Corning girls’ soccer team won on the road in a non-league game, 1-0 over Groton.

Aubrey Rose had the goal off a Noelle Sonsire assist. 

“We controlled the pace of the game with solid passing and possession throughout,” Corning coach Julie Pierce said. “We outshot Groton 16-2, but couldn’t find the back of the net. Credit to Groton’s goalkeeper, who was outstanding, but we also need to be more disciplined with our shot selection and take advantage of the opportunities we create. 

“After four long road trips int he last eight days, we’re looking forward to getting back home and playing Vestal on Thursday.”
