NYSPHSAA BOYS' SOCCER: CORNING FALLS TO NO. 2 RANKED BALDWINSVILLE (September 19, 2026)

BALDWINSVILLE — The Corning boys’ soccer team took on the No. 2 ranked Class AAA team in the state and fell to Baldwinsville 4-2. 

Landyn Proudfoot and Tommy Rossettie each had goals for Corning and Nathan Smith had an assist. 

Corning had 11 shots and three corner kicks and Baldwinsville had 17 shots and six corner kicks. 

Ben Hufnagel had 13 saves in goal for Corning.

“One short training session to prepare for the No. 2 state ranked Baldwinsville team to prepare without (James) Goodman, and we had some tactical awareness difficulties to work out in the first half.

“We relied heavily on a freshman duo to get big minutes today and made some adjustments in the half. In the second half we played an almost completely even match, conceding in the last couple of minutes of the match. Exciting match and a lot to build off moving forward.”
