STAC BOYS' SOCCER: PROUDFOOT SCORES TWICE, BUT CORNING FALLS TO ITHACA (September 14, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning Hawks boys’ soccer team fell to Ithaca in a STAC matchup on Monday night, 6-2.
Ithaca got four goals from Felix Teschl and Thomas Butcher and Ben Susskind both had goals in the game.
Landyn Proudfoot had both Corning goals.
Corning had 13 shots and five corner kicks and Ithaca had 16 shots and four corner kicks.
“This was a match characterized by thirds,” Corning coach Chad Freelove said. “For the first 30 minutes we jumped out to a 2-1 lead and played extremely well. The last 10 minutes of the half we had a couple of breakdowns.
“The final third of the match Ithaca scored three unanswered goals. There are still some really good things to take away from tonight. We will work on balance and composure throughout the field.”
