EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL: EDISON TOPS MORAVIA IN DISTRICT PLAYOFF REMATCH (21 PHOTOS)(September 11, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report MORAVIA — The Edison football team won a rematch of last year’s sectional championship game, topping Moravia 30-26.
“Once again Jace (Schiller) had a bulk of our offense,” Edison coach Kyle Erickson said. “Jace had a great game again on the ground supported by a great game for the offensive line. Key plays at the right time helped us secure the victory.
“Paxton (Hoover) also had a wonderful game with a long touchdown catch and clinched the game with the interception late in the game. I am really proud of how our players overcame adversity.”
Schiller got Edison off to the fast start two minutes into the game with a 60-yard touchdown run as Edison went up 6-0.
Dillon Palmer caught a 48-yard touchdown from Brennan Carr as Moravia tied the game at 10:58 of the second quarter.
Schiller had a five-yard touchdown at 5:43 of the second quarter and he hit Connor Lasko on the two-point try to make it 14-6.
Carson Andrews caught a 54-yard touchdown from Carr at 8:30 of the third quarter and then he caught a 22-yard touchdown from Carr at 1:56 of the quarter with Carr running in the two-point try as Moravia went up 20-14.
Hoover had a 50-yard touchdown catch from Schiller at 11:51 of the fourth quarter and Schiller had the two-point run. Hoover then recovered a fumble and ran back 86 yards for the score at 8:48 to put Edison up 30-20. Palmer had a one-yard run for a score with 6:54 left.
Schiller ran 26 times for 199 yards and two scores and threw for 102 yards on 4-of-7 passing with a touchdown.
Hoover had three catches for 82 yards and Tanner Buchanan had a 20-yard catch. Hoover also ran for 24 yards.
Carr was 15-for-19 for 230 yards and three scores for Moravia and Dillon Palmer ran for 93 yards and a score. He also had four catches for 71 yards and threw for 26 yards. Andrews had 11 catches for 185 yards.
Hoover had nine tackles, a pass defensed and a fumble recover and Schiller had seven tackles, and a tackle for a loss. ——— PHOTOS BY TERRY DAY.
