IAC BOYS' SOCCER: FERRIS NETS GOAL, BUT EDISON IS EDGED BY O-M (September 9, 2026)

ODESSA — Edison got a goal to get within one at the half, but Odessa-Montour topped the Spartans 3-1 on Wednesday night. 

Odessa was up 2-0 in the first half when the Spartans put on a counter attack, Cameron Southard, Mason Vanderhoff, Josiah Greene and Luca Palmieri.

Camden Ferris scored a breakaway goal 1 v 1 with the keeper to cut the deficit to 2-1 at the break.

The second half was well played by both teams and the Spartans held O-M scoreless in the half in the rain until a goal with five minutes left made the final score. 

“Strong defensive effort was led by goalkeeper Nate Perez, and center backs Alex Sternfels and Cameron Southard,” Edison coach Shawn Nugent said. 

Edison will face South Seneca at 5 p.m. Friday at Odessa-Montour.
