SECTION 4 CROSS COUNTRY: AREA RUNNERS FIND SUCCESS AT ACTION FIGURES RELAY (24 PHOTOS) (September 5, 2026)

PAINTED POST — Area runners headed to the Watson Homestead for the Sixth Annual Action Figures Relay. 

Corning won the girls’ 2x2 mile relay with a team of Kateland Dininny and Bella Martinec in 25:51. 

Elmira’s Madelyn Wise and Addie Fenton took second in 26:58 followed by Corning’s Kai Bronfenbrenner and Hazel Fuchs in 28:21. Abigail Wagner and Eleanor Robson of Corning took fourth in 29:28. 

Corning’s Sophia Bender and Savannah Elliot took seventh in 32:17. 

Elmira’s Ameera Mahmoud and Annalise Ferriter took 10th in 34:22 and Mallory Duffy and Serenity Rollins of Elmira took 13th in 36:24 followed by Corning’s Katelyn Brayman and Aubrey Miller in 36:50 and Eliana Hill and Arianna Walburn of Elmira in 40:28.

Corning won the co-ed 2x2 mile with Graham Wightman Vanessa Topelec finishing in 24:31 followed by Noah Wilbur and Molly Doran of Elmira in 26:36.

Kaitlyn Lee of Corning and Adekunie Oyelaran took third in 28:13 followed by Corning’s Brock Allington and Coraline Ashton in 35:34. Triton Conklin and Olivia Ward of Elmira took fifth in 37:45. 

For the boys Christopher Lawson and Ashtyn Stark of Corning won in 20:52 with Elmira’s Gianni Page and James Lovell taking third in 22:31.

Corning’s Andrew Miller and Charlie Wukovitz took fourth in 22:35 and Connor Harrington and Elijah Sonner of Corning took sixth in 22:52.

Isaac Ho and Evan Soccio of Corning took seventh in 23:27 followed by teammate Psacal Boutwell and Thomas VanSlyke in 23:34. Britton Chapman and Andrew Wilkerson finished ninth in 23:48.

Cooper Adriance and Braedyn Copp of Car ing took 11th in 24:21.

Jacob Kaufman and Nathaniel Carlton of Corning took 16th in 25:23 followed by teammates Isaac Ballard and Ryan Madden in 25:24. Elmira’s Alexander Barletta and Garrett Palmieri took 19th in 26:03 followed by Patrick Ho and Gavin Bierwiler of Corning in 26:19. 

Elmira’s Braylon Clark and Jacob Kiersten took 27th in 28:48 followed by Corning’s Sylas Ruza and Benjamin Vang-VanSlyke in 28::53. 

Corning’s Chase Reed and Abhi Patel took 31st in 30:09 and teammates Ben Stumper and Mason Childs took 38th in 33:45. 

Benjamin Hinman of Elmira was sixth in the open two-mile in 12:10.6 followed by Burke Hilgindorf of Notre Dame in 12:42.4. 

Elmira’s Wally Ferriter was 10th in 12:47.3 followed by Corning’s Dominik Davis in 12:49.7. 

Notre Dame’s Bella Clarke was 19th in 13:48.7.

Corning’s Mia Owens was 24th in 14:04.1 followed by teammates Liesel Despain (14:10.1) and Uma Palma Tree Thuman (14:110>

Johnny Piet of Notre Dame was 29th in 14:40.4 followed by Lillian Deuerlein of Corning in 14:40.9. Finley Blood of Corning was 32nd in 15:03.4. Devlin Moore of Notre Dame was 44th in 16:07.7 with teammate Trevor Egan 47th in 17:07.1. Corning’s Caroline Welch was 49th in 17:29.5 followed by Elmira’s Aydin Butters in 17:35. 

Corning’s Alex Nicholas was 55th in 19:49.13 and Lylie Colunio of Notre Dame was 60th in 21:21.81. 

Overall Lawson had the best time in the day in 10:15 followed by Wightman and Stark at 10:37. Martin was the top female in her first cross country race in 12:50. Dininny was third in 13:01. Madelyn Wise of Elmira was fourth in 13:21 followed by Fenton in 13:37.
