STAC BOYS' SOCCER: ELMIRA OPENS SEASON WITH WIN OVER OWEGO (24 PHOTOS)(August 31, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Elmira boys’ soccer team opened the season with a 4-0 win over Owego on Monday.
Chase Christian started the game with a goal, before Parker Coleman scored on a set piece.
Dom Capilli had a goal to cap the first half scoring, and added a second-half goal.
Coleman had an assist in the game.
Hunter Grant finished with three saves for Elmira, while the Express had eight shots, compared to three for Owego.
“Always great to get out to a fast start,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “Alessio runs a quality program at Owego, so we are happy with the result.
“Still a ways to go as we assess what we did well and what areas we need to improve on. We like the starting point, but have to continue to improve and move forward.” ———— PHOTOS BY BRIAN FEES
