10U LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: CPPLL (NATIONAL) TOPS WAVERLY TO REACH CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (24 PHOTOS) (July 3, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportPAINTED POST — The Corning-Painted Post 10u National team moved to the finals of bracket play with a 16-1 four-inning win over Waverly on Thursday.
Waverly jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but CPPLL scored nine in the second to jump out to a 9-1 lead.
A run in the third, and a six-run fourth set up the mercy rule.
Tate Williams threw all four innings for CPPLL, allowing three walks and three strikeouts, without allowing a hit. He allowed an unearned run. Marcel Phillips scored the Waverly run.
Williams and Nolan Peterson each had doubles for CPPLL. Peterson had two hits and two RBI.
Ryan Hesch had two hits and scored a run and Wyatt Hunter had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
Evelyn Miller had two hits and scored two runs.
Colton Pfeiffer had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Kamden Dillon had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.
River Dunkleburger had. Hit, an RBI and three runs scored and Grayson Putney had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Easton Grover scored a run and Vaust scored two runs.
CPPLL will be at Horseheads at 7:30 p.m. on Monday for the final.
