BCANY GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS COACH SCOTT NAMED AA BCANY COACH OF THE YEAR (June 25, 2026)

Horseheads girls’ basketball coach Andy Scott was named this year’s BCANY Class AA New York State coach of the year.

It’s the first time in his coaching career that Scott was named the coach of the year. 

The Blue Raiders made the state Final Four and finished the year ranked No. 2 in the final state rankings. 

“One of the hardest working groups I’ve ever coached,” Scott said of the honor. “Coach Bonnell was a huge piece to the success and coach Laney as well in the post season. Blessed.”

Scott was one of two Section 4 coaches to earn the honors as Mike Curtis of Chenango Forks was the Class B girls’ coach of the year.
