SOUTHERN TIER THUNDER 16U TEAMS COMPETE IN THUNDER TOURNEY (24 PHOTOS)(June 21, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report HORSEHEADS — One Southern Tier Thunder 16u team reached the finals of the Southern Tier Thunder Tournament on Sunday, while the other lost in a walk-off to the eventual champions.
Southern Tier Thunder-Baker beat BC Pride 16u and then won 8-6 over Edge Softball, who had beaten the Thunder 9-7 the day before. The Thunder fell in the final 11-1 to the Lady Dukes.
The Lady Dukes topped Southern Tier-Parlo in the quarterfinals on a walk-off and then they topped the Hazen Stars.
In the silver bracket 716 Heard beat the Greece Tornadoes in the quarters, while Wellsville beat the Vipers.
The Rochester Rattlers beat Wellsville and the Riot White beat 716 Heard, before the Rattlers won the title 17-4. ———— PHOTOS BY BRIAN FEES
