NYSPHSAA TRACK AND FIELD: LANEY ADVANCES TO 100 METER FINALS AT STATE TRACK (9 PHOTOS)(June 13, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report WEBSTER — Horseheads senior Patrick Laney has put himself in position to earn a state medal as he reached the finals of the 100 meters, running a 10.88 on Saturday at the NYSPHSAA Track and Field Championships.
Laney broke his own school record to finish sixth in the prelims. He’s just .01 behind fifth in the prelims and he was .18 behind second. Kaeden Herbert of Susan Wagner was the top runner in the prelims in 10.61.
Chase Luangsuwan finished 12th in the 200 meters in 22.92.
Horseheads was 10th in the 400 free relay with a team of Marco Cipolla, Laney, Luangsuwan and Baraka Schmidt. The team finished in 42.50. ———— PHOTOS BY TIM TAYLOR
