CORNING GRAD LARSEN BURCH OF THE PIONEERS HONORED AS PGCBL WEST PITCHER OF THE WEEK (June 9, 2026)

A Corning graduate was honored by the 2026 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. 

The first pitcher and player of the week awards of the season were named and in the West division Larsen Burch of the Elmira Pioneers was honored. 

Burch, a Corning graduate who attends Wabash Valley College, has allowed just two hits and not a single run in 7 2/3 innings this year.

He was strong in the second game of a doubleheader at Niagara Sunday night, striking out 11 with just walk in a 3-0 win over the Ironbacks. 

Burch was 4-1 in 20 appearances for Wabash this past season. He had two saves in 30 innings, striking out 20.
