NYSPHSAA BOYS' LACROSSE: HORSEHEADS FALLS TO TOP-RANKED VICTOR IN REGIONAL FINAL (June 6, 2026)

HONEYOYE FALLS — The Horseheads Blue Raiders fell behind 7-0 after one quarter and never recovered in a loss to the state’s top ranked team in the NYS regional final on Saturday.

Horseheads fell to Victor 18-4, with Victor leading 15-2 at the half. 

Victor, 18-4 on the year, is the state’s top ranked Class B team. 

“The first quarter was a lot to overcome,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “Congratulations to Victor and good luck to them moving forward. I was proud of the way the boys didn’t give up facing the No. 1 team in the state. The group accomplished a lot this season, and never quit until that final whistle. As a coach that is all you can really ask for.”

Brogan Sullivan had a pair of goals for Horseheads, who finish 12-7 on the year. Zack Bennett and Colin Phillips had goals and Kyle Ernst and Seamus Lynch both had assists.

Ben Potter had two saves in goal for Horseheads.

Boe Briggs was 10-for-24 on face-offs in the game. 

Jackson Mead had six goals and an assist for Victor and Colin Wheeler had two goals and two assists. 

Matthew Herendeen had a goal and three assists and Eli Ricci had three goals and was 13-for-17 on face-offs. 

Gage Hay had a goal and three assists and Lincoln Snyder had a goal and an assist.

Ben Gotham had two goals and Caleb Hall had a goal. Rory Burke and Tim McAuliffe each had assists. 

Will Simpson and Kiki Smith had saves in goal for Victory.
