STAC BASEBALL: ELMIRA GETS DOMINANT PITCHING AS THEY SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER WITH CORNING (May 9, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — The Elmira baseball team won a doubleheader against Corning on Friday night, 10-2 and 8-0.
In the 10-2 win Logan Demember threw six innings of two-hit ball, allowing an unearned run striking out 11. Brock Carr pitched one inning.
Jackson Cavalier was 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, four RBI and a run scored.
Demember had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored and Logan Palmer had a double.
Ryan Matthews had hit, an RBI and a run scored and Dom Ellis had a hit and an RBI.
Quinn Hanrahan scored two runs and Aedan Palmer scored a run, while Frankie D’Angelo scored a run.
Landen Speciale had a hit and scored a run for Corning and Andrew Welch had two hits, while Parker Tolbert had a hit and an RBI.
Nate Bretch struck out six in 4 1/3 innings and Jay Richards struck out three in 2 2/3 innings.
In the other game Aedan Palmer threw a two-hitter, striking out 13.
D’Angelo had a home run, three RBI and two runs scored and Demember and Cavalier each had doubles. Demember drove in a run and Cavalier scored two runs.
Aedan Palmer had a hit and an RBI and Logan Palmer had two hits, while Noah Cain had a hit and an RBI. Hanrahan scored a run.
Bretch had the Corning hits. Carter West struck out nine in 4 1/3 innings and Preston Miller struck out three in 1 2/3 innings.
