IAC TRACK AND FIELD: EDISON BOYS AND GIRLS DOWN WATKINS GLEN (May 7, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison boys and girls track and field teams each picked up wins over Watkins Glen on Thursday.
The girls won 64-54 and the boys won 76-62. Tioga also competed at the meet.
Hannah Lasko won the 100 in 13.22 and Richelle Jochem was third in 14.30.
Lasko won the 200 in 27.91 and Jochem was third in 29.24.
Lasko also won the 400 in 1:01.17 followed by Melania Cheplick in 1:11.14.
Cassandra Osgood was second in the 800 in 2:58.50 followed by Olivia Welch in 3:19.51.
Madison Hubschmitt was second in the 1500 in 5:56.90 and Osgood was third in 6:12.82.
Alexis Altieri won the 100 hurdles in 22.75 and in the 400 hurdles Eden Bethel was second in 1:34.49.
Natalie Spier, Jochem, Altieri and Madison Morrison won the 400 relay in 58.63.
Cheplick, Jochem, Lasko and Bethel won the 1600 relay in 4:45.77 and in the high jump athlete Redner was second at 4-feet.
Altieri won the long jump at 12-feet, 1 1/4-inches and Hailey Kent was second at 11-feet, 5 1/2-inches followed by Riley Clark (10-feet, 11 1/2-inches).
Clark won the triple jump at 23-feet, 11 3/4-inches.
Brandalyn Bleecker was third in the shot put at 22-feet, 6 1/4-inches.
Connor Lask won the 100 for the boys in 12.14 followed by Mark Cornacchio in 12.17.
Lasko was second in the 200 in 24.87 followed by Olivier Riffle in 25.84.
Zachary Sternfels won the 400 in 55.44 with Brenden Smith third in 58.75.
Sternfels was second in the 800 in 2:23.82. Jameson Duggan won the 1600 in 5:12.49.
Duggan won the 3200 in 11:36.21 with Jeremiah Hubschmitt third in 12:16.70.
Bryson Smith won the 110 hurdles in 20.08 followed by Augustus Ector in 20.09.
Ector won the 400 hurdles in 1:02.46 followed by Bryson Smith in 1:17.83.
Ector, Brendan Smith, Duggan and Sternfels won the 1600 relay in 3:48.43 and Carson Balash, Ector, Duggan and Sternfels won the 3200 relay in 9:58.
Brendan Smith was second in the high jump at 4-feet, 8-inches followed by Landon Nichols at 4-feet, 4-inches.
Lasko won the long jump at 18-feet, 3 1/4-inches followed by Cornacchio (18-feet, 3-inches).
Cornacchio was second in the triple jump at 37-feet, 7-inches followed by Brendan Smith (30-feet, 4 1/4-inches). Jaxon Brewster was third in the shot at 31-feet, 4 1/4-inches.
Landon Baumgardner was third in the discus at 85-feet, 9-inches.
