HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: ELMIRA EDGED BY SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY AND FALLS TO PA. POWER ABINGTON HEIGHTS (May 2, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Elmira softball team dropped a pair of games on Saturday, being edged by Susquehanna Valley 3-2 and then falling to Pennsylvania powerhouse Abington Heights.
In the opener Susquehanna Valley scored a run in the sixth to edge the Express.
Annabelle Decker had a hit and scored a run and Cate Lambert, Aleida Agosto and Maddi Smith had hits in the game. Smith struck out five in the game.
Against an Abington Heights team that is 13-1 and ranked by Max Preps as the 11th best team in all of Pennsylvania, the Express got hits from Agosto, Lambert and Anna Osbourne.
Ava Cornacchio struck out three in 1 1/3 innings and Amelia Holleran struck out two in 3 2/3 innings.
