SECTION 4 FLAG FOOTBALL: SENIORS COME UP BIG ON SENIOR DAY, BUT HORSEHEADS FALLS TO M-E (24 PHOTOS) (April 30, 2026)

Southern Tier Sports Report
HORSEHEADS — It was senior night for the Horseheads flag football team and senior Ally Perry started the game with an interception. 

In the end it was Maine-Endwell who won 33-14.

M-E was up 26-0, but Emma Drake scored on a five-yard run with no time left in the first half to put Horseheads on the board. 

Senior Payton Butts caught a 42-yard touchdown from Drake in the third quarter for the other Blue Raiders score. 

Drake ran for 75 yards in the game and Sydney Blunt ran for 67 yards. 

Drake had 191 yards through the air.

Giana Hughey had four grabs for 94 yards with a long of 55 late in the first half that set up the Drake touchdown run. 

Butts had three catches for 81 yards and Blunt had a 10-yard catch, while Kaila Mantey had two grabs for 11 yards. 

Samantha Owusu had 12 flag pulls, and a sack, and Alexxa Johnson had seven flag pulls, while Cailee Rosen had six. 

Senior Maggie Sullivan had two flag pulls. Alexis Hoyt is the team’s fourth senior that was recognized on senior day.
