SECTION 4 BOYS' BASKETBALL: AREA PLAYERS EARN ALL-STATE HONORS (April 29, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Corning Hawks had three all-state boys’ basketball players, and their other two starters both made honorable mention, and Notre Dame had two all-state players to highlight strong representation by locals on the all-state list.
In Class AAA Corning’s Nolyn Proudfoot earned third-team honors. No public school player earned first or second team honors, and only two earned third-team honors.
Proudfoot averaged 29.6 points and 9.5 rebounds a game, along with 2.1 steals and two assists a game. He shot 42% from three, 89% from the free throw line and 52% from the field.
The sophomore has 1,762 career points, and could become the section’s all-time leading scorer next year as a junior.
Corning senior Kyler Stevenson is a sixth-team selection. He averaged 17 points a game. He’s a SUNY Plattsburg commit.
Hawks junior Carter Proudfoot is a 11th team pick. He averaged 12.2 points a game and was a force defensively for the Hawks.
Corning’s other two starters, junior Kohl Hogue and senior Teigen Gill were both honorable mention all-state along with Julian Colon of Elmira.
Notre Dame junior Rocco Sayers is a third-team pick in Class C after averaging 18 points a game. Sayer’s backcourt mate Max O’Connor, a senior, who averaged 17 points a game is a fourth-team pick.
