SECTION 4 GIRLS' GOLF: ABEL SHOOTS 37 TO EARN MEDALIST HONORS, RANDALL 2ND FOR HORSEHEADS AS CORNING WINS IN FOUR-TEAM MEET (19 PHOTOS)(April 27, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report CORNING — Delaney Abel shot a 37 to earn medalist honors as the Corning girls’ golf team won in a match with three other teams on Monday at Corning Country Club.
Abel topped the field by nine shots on the day.
Corning shot 208, Waverly was at 218, Horseheads shot 227 and Odessa was at 289.
Harper Abel shot a 53 for Corning and Tess Barber finished with a 58. Zoe Martin had a 60 on the day. Senior Riley Austin shot a 66 on senior day and Kamryn Fusare had a 70.
Addison Hunt led Waverly with a 50 and Sophia Silio and Amelia Mitchel each shot rounds of 54, while Olivia Cheresnowsky and Adriana Pressure both had rounds of 60. Alaina Nichols shot a 73.
Jemma Randall had the second best score among all golfers on the day with a 46 for Horseheads. Ellie Padgett shot a 56 and Lydia Rockwell had a 61. Lacey Titsworth shot a 64 on the day.
Sarah Staats had a 70 and Lily Matzke finished at 81 for Horseheads.
