Southern Tier Sports ReportElmira senior Dash Harris recently committed to play college football at Utica.
“When coach Polito came to our school to talk about Utica I fell in love with it quick then we got in touch right after and set up a visit,” Harris said. “When I got to Utica I loved the campus and got to see some of the players and they were really big on brotherhood, that’s something I wanted going forward.”
For Harris getting a chance to play in college is special.
“It’s really a blessing to play at the next level,” Harris said. “Don’t matter what the sport is, playing after high school is a big step. I’m glad I got the opportunity to play and show what I can do.”
For Harris the decision as a pretty easy one after he saw Utica.
“It wasn’t really tough, I wasn’t looking at a lot of schools,” Harris said. “Some schools got in touch, but when I got accepted into Utica I knew that I was going there.”
Playing in New York just means ore chances for Harris to play in front of family and friends.
“I’m excited to play in state,” Harris said. “You know it’s always a blessing to play in front of family and hometown friends, I can’t wait. I’m glad my grandpa can come and see me play. He was the most excited when I told him I’m playing football in college.”
