COLLEGE SOFTBALL: CORNING GRAD RIJO AND ARKANSAS SOFTBALL WIN MIDDLE GAME OF SERIES AGAINST NO. 1 OKLAHOMA (April 20, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning graduate Atalyia Rijo and the Arkansas softball team took on the number one team in the nation over the weekend, winning the middle game of a three-game set with Oklahoma.
After Oklahoma edged Arkansas, ranked sixth, 8-7 in the opening game,
Rijo had a hit and a run scored in the opening game. Arkansas won the second game 3-2. Oklahoma won the third game 11-1. Rijo had a walk in the third game.
Rijo is hitting .340 on the year in 44 games, all starts. She has a 1.108 ops on the year. The Corning grad has a career-high seven home runs this year with nine doubles. She has scored a career-high 30 runs and has 35 RBI. She has a career-high 22 walks.
