SECTION 4 TRACK AND FIELD: MCLAUGHLIN WINS THREE EVENTS AS CORNING HAS STRONG DAY AT WEBSTER INVITE (April 20, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportWEBSTER — Corning track and field athletes found success at the Webster Invitational over the weekend.
Cella McLaughlin won the 200 in 25.17, finishing .71 ahead of anyone else in the field. Claire Devlin was sixth at 26.95. She won the 100 hurdles in 14.04, 1.58 seconds faster than anyone else in the race. Clare McLaughlin was ninth in 18.60.
Cella won the long jump at 18-feet, 9 1/2-inches, a foot and an inch further than the runner-up. Devlin was eighth at 16-feet, 11-inches.
Olivia Martinec won the 3000 in 10:46.96 and teammate Kateland Dininny was third in 10:56.39. The Hawks won the girls’ 4x100 meter throwers relay in 1:00.30.
Zac Radnnitz was ninth in the 200 in 23.81 and Ryan Calkins was sixth in the 400 in 51.56 and Adrian Blouin was 14th in 53.92.
Christopher Lawson was sixth in the 800 in 2:05.42 and Charles Warner was 11th in 2:09.80.
Bryce Hammond was second in the 1600 in 4:27.17 and Ashtyn Stark was sixth in 4:39.68.
Sebastian Boutwell won the 3200 in 9:41.95 followed by Nicholas Ferratella in 9:44.86.
Ethan Wentzel was fourth in the 110 hurdles in 16.54 with Joshua Fajardo 13th in 18.44. Connor Calkins was 11th in the 400 hurdles in 1:04.38.
Britton Chapman was 10th in the 3000 steeplechase in 12:06.60. Corning was fourth in the 4x100 meter throwers relay in 53.23. The Hawks took fourth in the DMR in 12:08.73.
Achille Gallois was tied for 10th in the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches. Fajardo was 11th in the triple jump at 40-feet, 3 1/2-inches.
Maxwell Jennings was third in the pole vault at 14-feet and Wentzel was sixth at 13-feet. Freddie Collins was 14th in the discus at 123-feet, 4-inches and he was eighth in the shot put at 43-feet, 6-inches.
Devlin was 13th in the 100 for the girls in 13.56 followed by Brooklyn Gordon in 13.57.
Chinonyerem Okoro was ninth in the 400 in 1:02.79 with Gordon 13th in 1:03.40.
Abigail Wagner was sixth in the 800 in 2:30.33. Gabriella Hurd was sixth in the 1500 in 5:11.99 followed by Bella Martinec in 5:15.56.
Amanda McEwen was ninth in the 400 in 1:13.96. Alisyn Conway was 14th in 1:16.56. Liesel Despain was sixth in the 2000 steeplechase in 8:30.02 and Kaitlyn Lee was 15th in 9:06.01.
Okoro was sixth in the high jump at 4-feet, 10-inches and Clare McLaughlin was 15th at 4-feet, 3-inches.
Hadley Murray was 13th in the triple jump at 31-feet, 5 1/2-inches followed by Conway at 31-feet, 4 1/4-inches.
Reese Conway was fifth in the pole vault at 10-feet and Lauren Williams tied for 11th at 8-feet, 6-inches.
Samantha Harvey was eighth in the discus at 90-feet, 2-inches and Layla Byzitter was 13th at 84-feet, 7-inches. Kailee Davis was sixth in the shot put at 29-feet followed by Byzitter at 28-feet, 10 1/2-inches.
