Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — The Corning Hawks picked up a 17-4 win over Elmira on Friday in five innings to move to 7-0 on the year.
Corning scored in every inning and had five in the first and seven more in the second inning.
Lauren DeRosa had a 4-for-5 day with a triple, an RBI and two runs score.
Keira Brass had three hits, with two RBI and two runs scored and Matti Johnston had two hits, with three RBI and two runs scored.
Mia Madden had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Hannah Kauffman, Katie Grover and Emelia Smith all had doubles on the day. Smith had two RBI and a run scored, Kauffmann had an RBI and three runs scored and Grover had an RBI and two runs scored.
Keana Mann had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored and Sophie Schhoonover had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Araya Archuleta had a hit and scored a run.
Johnston struck out five and allowed a hit and an unearned run in three innings, with Smith struck out two in two innings.
Annabelle Decker had a two-run home run for Elmira and Cate Lambert, Anna Osborne, Aleida Agosto and Grace Romeo all had hits. Romeo and Agosto scored runs.
Ava Cornacchio started and struck out one in two innings. Agosto worked an inning and Madi Smith pitched two innings, striking out three.
