SOUTHPORT — The Notre Dame softball team came up short against SVEC on Friday, 6-4. 

SVEC led 1-0 after the first inning, but the Crusaders tied things in the second. 

SVEC went up 2-1 in the third, and both teams scored three in the fifth, before SVEC added a run in the seventh. 

Danasia Thompkins had two hits, with a double and a run scored and Kayleigh Ayers had two hits, with a double and two RBI. 

Liz Young had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. 

Lylie Colunio finished with a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Hannah Bean scored a run.

Layla Sullivan struck out seven on the mound.
