SECTION 4 TRACK AND FIELD: CORNING DOMINATES AT WAVERLY BEFORE MOTHER NATURE ENDS THE NIGHT EARLY (24 PHOTOS) (April 14, 2026)

WAVERLY — Mother Nature didn’t allow the meet to be completed, but the Corning Hawks dominated at Waverly on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Hawks won nine of the 12 events completed on the day.

In the 100 meters for the girls Cella McLaughlin won in 12.04 followed by teammate Claire Devlin in 12.83. Brooklyn Gordon was fifth in 13.43. 

Olivia Martinec won the 1500 in 5:01.15 with Kaitlyn Lee third in 5:46.50 followed by teammates Uma Palma Tree Thutaram in 5:49.12 and Lillian Deuerlein in 5:53.70.

Clare McLaughlin won the 100 hurdles in 16.8 with Alisyn Conway third in 18.10 followed by Aubrey Scott in 18.71. 

Kateland Dininny, Bella Martinec, Gabrielle Hurd and Abigail Wagner won the 3200 relay in 10:49.28 followed by their B team of Liesel Despain, Lee, Thutaram and Deuerlein in 11:57.28.

Chinonyerem Okoro won the high jump at 4-feet, 6-inches with Clare McLaughlin third at 4-feet. 

Grayson Timmons was third in the boys’ 100 in 12.30 followed by Ben Huneau in 12.47. 

Bryce Hammond won the 1600 in 4:38.11 followed by teammates Sebastian Boutwell (4:38.35), Nicholas Ferratella (4:43.66), Christopher Lawson (4:46.87) and Ashtyn Stark (4:51.93).

Ethan Wentzel won the 110 hurdles in 15.46 with Joshua Fajardo fourth in 18.21 followed by Maxwell Jennings in 19.24. 

Liam Krebs, Achille Gallois, Fajardo and Jacob Deneka won the 400 relay in 45.47. 

Boutwell, Ferratella, Charles Warner and Hammond won the 3200 relay in 8:40.09 followed by the Hawks B team in 8:58.91.

Freddie Collins was second in the shot put at 44-feet, 10 1/2-inches with Austin Curreri fourth at 40-feet followed by Joseph Cimo at 36-feet, 4 1/4-inches.
