HORSEHEADS — The Elmira College softball team dropped both ends of an Empire 8 Conference doubleheader against Nazareth University on Sunday afternoon.

GAME ONE: Strong Offensive Performance Powers Nazareth over Elmira
The Soaring Eagles were unable to overcome an early deficit as Nazareth built momentum in the middle innings. Despite Elmira putting runners on base and generating scoring opportunities, timely hits from the Golden Flyers proved to be the difference. Elmira showed late fight at the plate, but the comeback effort fell short as Nazareth secured the win



GAME TWO: Late Push Lifts Golden Flyers
The Soaring Eagles started strong, recorded two hits in the second inning, but were unable to get on the board. Nazareth opened the scoring in the fourth inning before EC responded as Jocelyn Jean scored. The Golden Flyers put up six more runs down the stretch to win the game, 7-1.
