HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' LACROSSE: HORSEHEADS EDGED BY SCRANTON PREP IN OT (April 11, 2026)

HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team was edged by Scranton Prep 10-9 in overtime on Saturday afternoon. 

Prep led 3-1 after one quarter and 4-3 at the half.

Horseheads tied the game at six after three and both teas scored three ties in the fourth, before Prep won it in overtime. 

Keenan McCarthy had two goals and two assists for Horseheads and Brogan Sullivan had a goal and three assists.

Zack Bennett had a hat trick and Seamus Lynch had two goals. Colin Phillips had a goal and an assist and Owen Johanson had an assist. 

Ben Potter had seven saves for Horseheads and Boe Briggs was 18-for-22 on face-offs. Briggs won his 400th career face-off on the day. 

“Congrats to Scranton Prep on a hard-fought win,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “I was proud of our effort after going down 3-1 and rallying back. We just couldn’t convert on the opportunities we had at the end of the fourth and in OT. Three games in five days is a lot on the boys. We will get back to work on Monday.”

Will McPartland had five goals, including the game winner for Prep and Braedon McPartland had a goal and two assists.

Mackey Lynett had three goals and Owen McPartland had two assists.

Will Kane had a goal and Robert Hogan had an assist.

James Stallman had 10 saves in goal for Prep and Packy James had a save. 

Horseheads is at Elmira on Friday.
