COLLEGE CHEER AND DANCE: EC REPEATS AS CO-ED NATIONAL CHAMPIONS (April 10, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Elmira College coed cheer squad claimed their second consecutive NCA National Championship in the Advanced Small Coed Division III section. The Soaring Eagles competed in the finals at 6 p.m. on Friday.
In the Advanced Small Coed finals, Elmira received a raw score of 91.00 for its performance with 0.75 in deductions. The number brought the Soaring Eagles' total event score to 90.0542 to claim the National Title and advance to the Grand National Championship.
Elmira had an event score of 90.0542 to win, while Bridgewater State had an 86.7708, followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 76.8083.
UP NEXT
The Soaring Eagles have advance to compete in the Grand National Championship tomorrow, Saturday April 11. Elmira's time slot is slated for 3:36 PM. They will go head-to-head against the D1A, D1, D2, NAIA, and Junior College National Champions.
ALL-GIRL TEAM TAKES THIRD
The Elmira College all-girl cheer squad closed the 2025-26 season at the 2026 NCA College Nationals. The Soaring Eagles competed in the finals at 11:16 am FRIDAY morning.
In the Advanced All Girl finals, Elmira received a raw score of 83.40 for its performance with 1.75 in deductions. The number brought the Soaring Eagles' total event score to 81.6125 to claim the third-place title.
Alma won at 93.2375 followed by Cortland at 89.6584.
DANCE TEAM TAKES 7TH
The Elmira College dance squad closed the 2025-26 season at the 2026 NDA College Nationals. The Soaring Eagles competed in prelims at 8:42 AM FRIDAY morning.
In the Hip Hop prelims, Elmira received a raw score of 52.8 and a performance score of 75.4286 for a seventh-place finish.
