SECTION 4 FLAG FOOTBALL: BLUNT LEADS HORSEHEADS TO WIN OVER ELMIRA (April 10, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — The Horseheads flag football team went on the road and picked up a 33-7 win over Elmira on Friday night.
Sydney Blunt ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns for Horseheads. She had touchdown runs of 45, 19 and 65 yards and threw a four-yard touchdown. She also had a six-yard catch. Blunt also intercepted three passes on the day.
Emma Drake threw for 58 yards and ran for 10 yards and a touchdown.
Kennedy Harer ran for 26 yards and Ellison had 10 yards, while Giana Hughey ran for five yards. Hughey had a 13-yard catch.
Mantey had three grabs for 24 yards and a score.
Peighton Ellison had a 29-yard catch and Shiloh McInerney had a five-yard catch.
Maggie Sullivan had seven tackles for Horseheads and Blunt and Harer had five tackles each, while Lilly Garrabrant had four tackles.
Marley Devlin hit Kayvonna King for a touchdown and scored the conversion for Elmira. King also had an interception in the game.
“Missed a few opportunities early and it got away from us early,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “Still growing as a team and we will keep learning and getting better.”
