SECTION 4 BOYS' LACROSSE: SMITH AND HOGUE EACH SCORE FIVE GOALS AS CORNING TOPS VESTAL (14 PHOTOS)(April 9, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report CORNING — The Corning Hawks got five goals each from Kohl Hogue and Clayton Smith as they topped Vestal 16-3 on Thursday night.
Hogue had three assists with the five goals and Smith had an assist. Parker Chapel had two goals and two assists for the Hawks.
Joe Fucito had a goal and three assists and Jaxon Thomas had two goals.
Mike Lutton had a goal and Mike Sweet finished with two assists.
Casey Hale was 9-for-16 on face-offs. Landyn Proudfoot had six saves in goal and Lachlan Asiello had three saves.
“The goal as the season goes on is to try and improve each game,” Corning coach Chris Hogue said. “We had some areas earmarked to work on this game and I thought the boys did a nice job. Defensively we worked a lot harder and were more aggressive.
“Offensively we made the extra passes as 10 out of 16 goals were assisted. Casey Hale and our wing players did a nice job on the face-offs. We had a lot of energy and excitement which will continue to drive us.” ———— PHOTOS BY SHEILA SUTTON
