HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' LACROSSE: HORSEHEADS FALLS AT SPENCERPORT (April 9, 2026)

SPENCERPORT — The Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team fell to Spencerport, out of Section V, 10-5 on Thursday night. 

Spencerport led 5-0 at the half, before both teams scored five second-half goals. 

Boy Briggs led Horseheads with two goals and an assist, while Owen Johanson finished with two goals. 

Mason Yackel had a goal and Brogan Sullivan and Keenan McCarthy both finished with assists.

Ben Potter had seven saves for Horseheads. Briggs was 14-for-18 on face-offs. 

Zach Tortora led Spencerport with seven goals and two assists. Maddox Harding had two goals and Gavin Brown had a goal, while Tyler Wentworth finished with an assist. 

“We started slow tonight, but I was proud of the way we kept fighting and broke through in the second half,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “Good luck to Spencerport the rest of the way.”

Horseheads hosts Scranton Prep on Saturday.
