HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: CORNING WINS IN MYRTLE BEACH TO MOVE TO 4-0 ON THE SEASON (April 7, 2026)

MYRTLE BEACH — The Corning softball team moved to 4-0 on the year with a 3-1 win over Canfield, Ohio on Tuesday at the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Classic. 

Corning scored two in the fifth and a run in the sixth in the win.

Brass and Mia Madden each had two hits for Corning. Brass had an RBI and a run scored and Madden scored a run.

Matti Johnston had a double and a run scored and Lauren DeRosa had a hit and two RBI.

Hannah Kauffman and Katie Grover each had hits for the Hawks. 

Johnston struck out 14 on the mound, allowing an unearned run on five hits.
