HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: NOTRE DAME EDGED IN CORTLAND, 2ND GAME RAINED OUT (April 1, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCORTLAND — The Notre Dame softball team fell to Tri-Valley 15-14 in Cortland on Wednesday, while they led against Sauquoit Valley when the game was stopped due to rain.
Lylie Colunio had a hit and scored the run against Sauquoit Valley, but the game was stopped with Notre Dame up 1-0 in the first.
Against Tri-Valley the Crusaders got five in the third to lead 6-2 after three and they led 8-2 going into the bottom of the fifth, when Tri-Valley scored four in the fifth, four in the sixth and five in the seventh.
Notre Dame led 14-10 going into the bottom of the seventh.
Colunio was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, an RBI and four runs scored and Libby Meisner had a home run and a triple, four RBI and three runs scored.
Sadie Potter had two hits, with four RBI and three runs scored and Kayleigh Ayers had two hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
Danasia Thompkins had two hits, with a double, two RBI and a run scored.Liz Young scored a run in the game.
Layla Sullivan struck out eight in the game.
