STAC SOFTBALL: CORNING WINS AT VESTAL TO MOVE TO 2-0 ON YEAR (March 30, 2026)

VESTAL — The Corning softball team picked up a 11-2 win at Vestal on Monday to move to 2-0 on the season.

The Hawks scored four in the first, a run in the second, a run in the fourth and fifth and four in the sixth.

Emelia Smith and Keana Mann each had two hits for Cornin. Mann had a pair of doubles, two RBI and a run scored and Smith had three RBI and two runs scored.

Hannah Kauffman had a double, two RBI and a run scored and Lauren DeRosa had a double and scored two runs.

Matti Johnston had a hit and scored three runs and Sophie Schoonover had a hit and an RBI, while Mia Madden also had a hit and an RBI and Katie Grover had a hit. 

Johnston struck out 11 against one walk, allowing two runs on seven hits in the game.
