IAC SOFTBALL: EDISON SET TO KICK OFF THE SEASON (13 PHOTOS)(March 29, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison softball team is getting ready to kick off their season on Monday as they play host to Dryden.
“It feels great,” Edison coach Liz Warren said as the team prepared for the season. “We have a very young team this season and I’m excited to see how they grow. Definitely lots of potential with this crew.”
The numbers aren’t huge this year, but there is plenty of talent and the team is looking to keep growing the numbers.
“To be honest numbers were low this season,” Warren said. “It’s deifnitely something we are looking at as a rebulding year for both programs. JV numbers are just at nine, so we are going to keep pushing and hopefully growing the program from here.
“We are grateful for Cinderalla and travel to keep the interest going for our young girls and hopefully build the program back up strong.”
A year ago the Spartans made a sectional final and they return a strong group from that last year.
“We have I think seven returners from last season, but we did lose a big core of seniors who really drove the leadership," Warren said. "So, it's nice to see the younger girls step up into those roles and kind of figure out their role as we go here." -------- PHOTOS BY BRIAN FEES
