SECTION 4 FLAG FOOTBALL: BLUNT RUNS FOR 249 YARDS BUT HORSEHEADS IS EDGED BY ITHACA (24 PHOTOS)(March 26, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report HORSEHEADS — Sydney Blunt ran for 249 yards on 22 carries in the pouring rain, but the Horseheads flag football team was edged by Ithaca, 26-20 on Thursday night.
Ithaca led 19-6 at the half. Horseheads got within 19-14 after three and in the fourth quarter had the ball in Ithaca territory with a chance to take the lead. However, the Little Red defense held and they went down and scored to seal the win.
Blunt had two touchdowns on the day and Emma Drake hit Shiloh McInerney for a 10-yard touchdown pass.
Drake threw for 54 yards in the game and Blunt had four grabs for 39 yards. Payton Butts had two catches and McInerney finished with the touchdown catch. ‘
