STAC BASEBALL: HORSEHEADS OPENS SEASON WITH WIN OVER BINGHAMTON (March 25, 2026)

BINGHAMTON — The Horseheads baseball team opened the season with a 13-0 win over Binghamton on Wednesday.

Cooper Ball and Mason Markle combined on a three-hitter in the win.

Ball worked five innings, striking out nine and allowing two hits. Markle allowed one hit and struck out four in two innings.

Kegan Monahan was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBI and Ball was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Markle had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Beckett Diane had a hit and scored two runs. 

Lyncoln Bennett had a hit and an RBI, Hunter Matkosky, Ryan Weigand and AJ Sheehan all had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Ben Torgalski had a hit and Ryan Cicciarelli scored a run. 

Sheehan, Ball and Monahan all had doubles in the game for the Blue Raiders.
