SECTION 4 BOYS' LACROSSE: SCHWEIZER RECORDS 300TH CAREER POINT AS ND/WG OPENS WITH WIN (March 24, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportWATKINS GLEN — Finn Schweizer notched his 300th career point as the Notre Dame/Watkins Glen boys’ lacrosse team beat Seton Catholic 14-13 on Tuesday to open the season.
“Great, gritty team win tonight vs. Seton Catholic,” ND/WG coach Geoff Crossley said. “This was a true game of runs between us and Seton. We would go up by two and they would match us. Then a run of three and they would match us again. It just came down to grit and this team was able to pull it off against a good Seton team.”
Schweizer entered the night with 192 goals and 103 assists in his career. He finished with three goals and three assists and got his 300th point on a fast break with three seconds left in the second quarter. He now sits five goals away from 200 for his career.
“Was great to see this great young player hit such a milestone,” Crossley said. “We had some new players and some returning players play key roles in this game. Luka Clark, Tax Jaynes and Mathis Dehecq played great defense all night with the help of Victor Ambiel. Newcomers Callum Bieres and Noah Lerun played some big minutes at midfield with Callum picking up some needed ground balls late in the game, finishing with seven ground balls on the night. Dominic Capriccio had a night at LSM with 12 ground balls and a goal in the third quarter, another dominating performance at that position.
“On the offensive side once again was a complete team effort with key minutes put in by Sam Hohle, Landon English, Garrett Lone, Chris O’Brien, Matt Keough and Finn Schweizer.”
English had four goals and four assists and Kone had three goals and an assist, going 21-for-30 on faceoffs.
Hohle had two goals and an assist and Keough and Capriccio had goals in the game.
Declan Barry finished with 12 saves in goal for his first varsity win.
