STAC SOFTBALL: CORNING OPENS SEASON WITH WIN AT JOHNSON CITY (March 24, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportJOHNSON CITY — The Corning Hawks softball team opened the season with a 12-3 win at Johnson City on Tuesday afternoon.
Corning scored runs in every one of the six innings in the win.
Emelia Smith and Keana Mann each had two hits. Mann had a double and a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Smith had a triple and scored two runs.
Katie Grover had a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Sophie Schoonover, Mia Madden, CJ Harrison and Lauren DeRosa each had a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Hannah Kauffman had a double, two RBI and a run scored and Mattisen Johnston walked four times and scored two runs. Keira Brass and Lilly Allen both scored runs in the game.
Johnston allowed four hits and three runs, striking out nine for Corning.
Corning hosts Elmira at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
