SECTION 4 FLAG FOOTBALL: HORSEHEADS EDGED BY U-E IN SEASON OPENER (24 PHOTOS)(March 20, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads flag football team jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first half, but fell to Union-Endicott 14-6 in the season opener on Friday.
Sydney Blunt had an 18-yard touchdown run with 8:50 left in the half to put Horseheads up 6-0.
U-E scored with 3:30 left and got the one-point try to lead. 7-6 at the half, and they tacked on a second-half score in the win.
Blunt ran for 68 yards and the touchdown and Cailee Rosen ran for 48 yards. Blunt had 111 all purpose yards on offense as she caught four passes for 48 yards. Kailee Mantey had two grabs for 23 yards in the game.
Emma Drake completed nine passes for 102 yards in the game.
Maggie Sullivan had 11 flag pulls for Horseheads, seven in the first half.
