PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY: BEECHER RECORDS FIRST TWO GOAL GAME OF HIS NHL CAREER (March 12, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportElmira’s Johnny Beecher had the first two-goal game of his NHL career on Thursday night as the Calgary Flames beat the New Jersey Devils 5-4.
Beecher scored two goals on four shots, blocking three shots in the game. He played 15 minutes and 15 seconds in the game, with 12 minutes and 32 seconds of even strength and two minutes and 43 seconds on the penalty kill.
The goal was Beecher's first as a member of the Flames.
Beecher won five faceoffs on the day.
Beecher started the scoring at 5:04 of the opening period on a wrist shot.
Just as he did in the opening period, Beecher started the scoring in the second period just 54 seconds in on an unassisted goal. The goal came as Beecher scored short-handed, poking home a rebound off his own shot.
Beecher now has three goals and three assists this year, between his time with the Flames and Boston Bruins, playing in 31 games on the season.
