COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL: CORNING'S HENDERSON HEADED TO NCAA TOURNEY WITH SIENA (March 10, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning graduate Isaiah Henderson is heading to the NCAA Tournament as the Siena men’s basketball team won the MAAC Championship on Tuesday night.
Siena defeated top-seeded, and regular-season champion Merrimack 64-54 in the championship game. Siena was the third-seed in the tournament.
It’s the first conference title for Siena since 2020. That title was won as the highest remaining seed after their quarterfinal win in a tournament cut short due to Covid. The last title earned on the court was 16 years ago in 2010, the last time the Saints played in the NCAA Tournament.
Henderson played in 28 games, with one start, on the season. He averaged 3.8 points on 13.8 minutes a game. He had a career-high of 15 points this year.
