SECTION 4 BOYS' BASKETBALL: NOTRE DAME TOPS UNION SPRINGS TO ADVANCE TO SECTIONAL FINAL (March 4, 2026)

DRYDEN — The Notre Dame boys’ basketball team beat Union Springs 56-48 on Wednesday night to earn a berth in the Section IV, Class C championship.

“Very proud of our group,” Notre Dame coach Nick Weirmiller said. “That is a very good Union Springs team. They made a strong run at us in the third quarter and proud of my guys for weathering the storm and toughing this one out.

“Great group of seniors that did not want thse season to end.”

Notre Dame led 25-17 at the half, before Union Springs outscored Notre Dame 23-12 in the third to take a 40-37 lead. 

Notre Dame outscored Union Springs 19-8 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Max O’Connor had 18 points, with 13 coming in the first half.

Landon English had 15 points for the Crusaders, 11 in the second half.

Mike Sutryk had nine points, on three fourth quarter three pointers. 

Rocco Sayers had six points and Finn Schweizer and Skoon Jenkins each had four points in the game. 

Notre Dame will take on Delaware Academy at 4 p.m. on Saturday at TC3.
