ELMIRA GIRLS WIN STATE QUALIFIER, FIVE LOCAL BOYS AND GIRLS EARN INDIVIDUAL SPOTS AT STATES (March 1, 2026)

Vestal — The Elmira girls won the state qualifier title to make it to states in bowling, while individually Kylie Downing of Corning heads the Section IV all-star team.

Elmira won the Division I standings at 7,293, edging Union-Endicott by 33 pins. 

Madison Smith led the girls with the high series for D1 and Madyson Wasicki was third. 

Six individual bowlers also made it to staates, headlines by Downing, who shot 1,686. 

The Corning boys won the boys’ title, and the all-star team inclued four local bowlers.

Elmira’s Alex Gublo (2,023 pins) was second on the all-star team, with Cayden Bowman of Horseheads fourth at 1,900, followed by Elmira’s Frankie D’Angelo (1,876) and Logan Card (1,811).
