SECTION 4 BOWLING: CORNING BOYS WIN STATE QUALIFIER TO ADVANCE TO STATES (February 27, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Corning boys’ bowling team won the state qualifier to earn a trip to states a they shot a grand total of 9,190.
The grand total is a combination the three games from sectionals and six games on Friday at Midway Lanes.
Corning shot 964, 1,115 and 1,094 in the morning for a 3,173 and then they shot 991, 1,036 and 1,068 for a 3,095 in the afternoon.
Bentley Goodier shot 197, 244 and 257 for a 698 and then 191, 176 and 289 for a 656. Combined with sectionals he shot 1,955.
Max Aponte shot 183, 225, 192 for a 600 and 236, 167 and 203 for a 606. Combined with sectionals he had a 1,820.
Jack Dunning shot 190, 207, 232 for a 629 and 189, 249 and 166 for a 204. He had a 1,770 total.
Keegan Palmer-Mundt shot 236-215-213-664 and 167 in the afternoon he had a grand total of 1,416.
Owen Watson shot 158 in the morning and 224-213-437 and had a grand total of 1,180. Chase Kizis shot 224-200-424 and 208-220-197-625 and had a grand total of 1,049.
