COLLEGE SWIMMING: CORNING GRAD MCKANE NAMED ATHLETE OF WEEK AT PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS, QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS (February 24, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportANNAPOLIS, MD. —— Corning graduate Angie McKane had a dominant performance for the Army women’s swim team at the 2026 Patriot League Championships.
McKane was named the 2026 Patriot League women’s swimmer of the meet.
Overall McKane made nationals and won six events at the championship, setting three individual program records.
The Corning graduate is a first-team All-Patriot League selection.
McKane won the 100 fly with a program record, meet record, Lejeune Hall record and an NCAA Qualifying time of 51.34.
McKane won her second individual title of the day in the 100 back with a 52.83.
The Corning grad got her third individual win as she captured the 100 free in 48.85.
McKane also helped the 400 free relay team win in 3:19.86. Her lead-off time of 48.84 was a new program record.
McKane started the championships as part of the 200 medley relay that won in 1:38.37, which is a program record, a Patriot League record and a meet record.
The Corning grad was also part of the 400 medley relay that won in 3:34.27, which is a program record, a Patriot League record, a meet record and. Lejeune Hall record. McKane’s 100 back leadoff tie of 52.53 is a program record.
